MONTHLY
COLUMN (C-T)
By Jon Maples, Chief, City of Chillicothe Police Department
October, 2018 -
Over the month of October, 2018, the Chillicothe Police Department has worked multiple
investigations of theft of motor vehicles, burglaries, and stealing reports. Of the five vehicles that were stolen,
four have been recovered, one trailer has been recovered, and another vehicle recovered in Chillicothe stolen
from another jurisdiction.
Officers received several tips on this investigation;
and through partnership with the community and the hard work and diligence of the officers, we have come closer to an end to this investigation. We have also worked
with multiple jurisdictions, being Trenton PD, Grundy County
Sheriff's Office, Livingston County Sheriff's Office, and Carroll County
Sheriff's Office as the individuals also were involved in criminal activity in some of those jurisdictions.
As a result of this investigation, three individuals have been charged in the Livingston County Court System. A 25-year-old male of
Odessa, Missouri, was charged with theft of a motor vehicle with a bond of $20,000.00, a 22-year-old female of Carrollton, Missouri,
was charged with theft of a motor vehicle, burglary, and stealing with a bond of $20,000.00, and a 25-year-old female of Kansas City,
Missouri, was charged with theft of a motor vehicle. We are still working with the prosecutor and are in the process of getting the stolen property back to the rightful owners. We are also still applying for more charges on these individuals along with another person of interest.
I would like to thank the officers for their hard work and dedication along with this amazing community for partnering with us. I would also like to thank Livingston County Prosecutor Adam Warren.
I, as your Chief of Police, do not and will not stand for this type of action within our amazing community. Community members work hard in making Chillicothe one of a kind, and the Chillicothe Police Department staff along with myself will continue to protect and
serve you and make Chillicothe the best version of itself we can.
